I thought the pvp areas were so you can go farm materials in them. Sort of like the faction system, but you can't trade in Fpoints for amber or jade.

You need to watch some videos about AoC, then post. I don't mean this in a rude way at all, but you seem poorly informed about the game. Considering it has potential to be one of the biggest "sleeper" hits of 2008 as far as the gaming industry goes.

Thats part 1 of a 3-4 part walkthrough, I'd suggest watching all of them; you'll have a good understanding by the end of it all.

I'll admit that PvP will be a little more than farming resources, but I am adamant that because it is taken from a book, it isn't going to be that good. Books/movies don't translate well into video games and vice versa.

EDIT: that is also over a year old so things could have changed since then.

CoV/CoH did all right. If it sucks, it's no skin off my nose. You get a free month when you buy the game. I only learned today that official server opening isn't until the 23rd here. If you pre-order you get a 3 day head start.

As usual US gets in first. Pre-order 17th may. Open to everyone else on the 20th.

For me CoH got boring once I made all the characters I wanted to (and I didn't like the skill trees very much). Cancelled my account in the first month. :\

From what I've heard about the AoC combat system, while it does sound unique, I also think it'd require too much user interaction and babysitting.

Prob take a little time to get use to. I'm planning on making a caster first time round. Then a melee char after.

Mages don't appeal to me because of their darker nature. If I were more interested in the game, I'd probably make an anti-mage guild. In Conan's world, mages are things to be killed.
